The sixth Opeongo Classic Loppet took place on challenging, hilly terrain at Opeongo Nordic trails, located in Brudenell, Ontario (south of Killaloe).
This year’s courses consisted of four loops covering most of the clubs’s trail system. Each loop began and ended at the start/finish area. A 15 km distance was added to loppet this year.

Team Event — Most Registered Participants
A team can be any combination of ages and genders. Prizes will be awarded to the team with the most skiers. If there is a tie, the team with the youngest participant is declared the winner. Enter your team name in the appropriate box when you register. Team members still compete as individuals in their registered event.
Best Costume: To add to the festivity, skiers, volunteers, and spectators are encouraged to come in costume. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes as determined by the judges.
Course Description: The 5 km loop is over rolling terrain. The 10, 15 and 20 km loops are over rolling, intermediate and challenging terrain.
Refreshments: There will be nutrition station near the start/ finish area after the end of each loop. After the loppet, hot chilli, buns and hot drinks will be served for racers (included in the fee) and volunteers.
Awards/Results: Awards will be given during post-event refreshments. Winners of draws or gifts must be present to accept them. Results will be posted on the club website.
The organization reserves the right to cancel the event due to poor snow or trail conditions or cold weather. Refunds will be mailed out, less a $5 administration fee.
Note: Dress appropriately as there is no indoor warming facility. We encourage everyone to mask when they are in a group.

20 km: Loops A + B + C (to Split Rock ONLY)+ D
Loop A: Barn Twister (counter clockwise), Big Dipper, Stonedam, Raspberry, Churchview to start/finish
Loop B: Barn Twister (clockwise), Churchview, Split Rock, Sunset, Barn Twister (counterclockwise), Churchview to start/finish.
Loop C: Barn Twister (clockwise), Churchview, Split Rock (counterclockwise), Churchview back to start/finish.
Loop D (modified): 20 km skiers complete LOOP C. LOOP D start is the same as LOOPS B & C. Barn Twister (counter clockwise), Churchview, Split Rock (clockwise), Little Gorman, Barn Twister (counter clockwise), Churchview to start/finish.
